the crazy things i see on campus!

So yesterday as I was walking to class, I saw the most unpredictable sight! Between the MARB and Clyde building was a LAMA! It was so unusual that when i showed up to the review (a little early) I had to tell my friends about it. We decided we would go back to get a picture, I knew I would want to blog about this and pictures just make it that much more interesting! Everybody, meet Jeffrey!

I decided that from now on, if a saw anything interesting or outrageous on campus I would take a picture and share it on my blog. I may just end up having to create a blog just for those moments, but until the day that I'm overflowing with crazy pictures I'll just stick to this one.

Oh, one more crazy moment on campus that happened today. I almost got a picture with Jimmer. He was just walking away from the Wilk. --As a side note, for those who don't know me, I'm not an obsessed fan, I promise-- I wondered wether I should ask for a picture or not, cause I really did not want to seem like a wierdo. Well, my short debate with myself was solved when we were a little bit closer, I looked up and noticed it wasn't Jimmer. But in my defense, it was scary how much this guy looked like him. I'm just glad I didn't say anything. It could have been more awkward than asking the real Jimmer for a picture. But like my roommates say, "it's whatever."

A quick hello, then goodnight!

In class today, I showed my teacher the pictures of Dr. Harris. They're really good buddies who like to joke around so I figured he would appreciate them. His reaction was unexpected, but priceless. He said, "Oh I know, Dr. Harris and I ride together when the weather is nice." So there you have it, both my teachers who teach my hearing classes are bikers! I can't wait until I catch them both together with their Harley's.

I did really well on a test this morning, which I am so grateful for. It is a great feeling to put in the time for a test and get the results you want - that totally sounds like a weight loss slogan, sorry. Anyways, I won't find out what my score is until later (hopefully next class), but I felt confident in it. This semester has worked out so well for me, and it's very reassuring to me. I know ComD is what I'm supposed to be in, and I'm grateful to have found it. It takes a lot of work, but I love putting in the time. That might sound crazy because it can be stressful, but it's so worth it in the end. I'm learning things that I will apply to my career and it just makes me excited about it all. So, there's my little schpeel about my school life right now.

Paging Dr. Harris...

The coolest thing happened today!  I went to a review, class, and then to meet with the t.a. to make sure I was ready for a test I have tomorrow.  My classes were fine, in fact in one of my classes I found out we had a 4% curve on our test from last week so I ended up with a 96% on our 2nd midterm.  The review before those classes was super helpful as well.  However, the best part of my day was waiting for the t.a. outside her office.  Some classmates and I were in the hall when in walked Dr. Harris, our Hearing Science teacher from last semester.  We all had to make a double take!  Dr. Harris was wearing a leather vest with many pins, sunglasses, and black biker gloves.  I told him this was a sight we had never seen before, and he just chuckled as he went towards his office.  I turned to my friend and said I wish I would have asked him for a picture and just then he came back around the corner.  So, I asked him.  His reply was, "Well, my bike's outside so if you'll just follow me I can let you do that."  We all jumped up and nearly sprinted out the door.  Sure enough, his Harley's right outside the door.

After I took this picture, I told him I just had to be in the picture with him.  As I stood next to him he said, "Well aren't you gonna get on?"  We were laughing so hard, I could not believe it.  His Harley was so big I almost fell trying to get on.  Shout out to Dr. Harris, YOU ARE AWESOME!

To sum it all up, I just have to say that I love my major!  If only people knew how much fun we have in our classes, they'd all convert to the ComD life!

My First Post!

Wow!  After a lot of talk about blogging, I have finally joined the club.  I don't know why it took so long.  If I would have been aware of the stress of picking a title for my blog I probably would have put it off even longer.  I knew I could change it later if I wanted to, but the anxiety still got to me.  I felt like I was making a commitment!  However, creating my blog was so fun and I just couldn't pull myself away from it.  I had to pick a design, and then I had to make the appropriate changes, and now I have to write my first post.  I'm going to have to get used to this, and learn about all the different things I can do with it, but I can tell that blogging will be an activity that I am going to love!

Of course it's a great way to keep people posted who are interested in what's going on in my life, and even for complete strangers to do the same, that's why it was started in the first place.  (Note to self - social networking is great business)  Honestly, I decided to start a blog because I'm leaving on a trip in May, and my roommate, Erin, has explained to me how wonderful it is, so I figured this would be a great way to share those moments with my friends and family.  But as I started this post I realized that what I hope to do is take more time in my life to write down and share the good things that I see and the fun times that I have.  I want to be more engaged in the things around me, to take more pictures, and look for moments throughout my days or weeks that are meaningful that I can capture.

I really am going to try to figure out what it is that makes blogs really take off, but for now, be patient with me!  I'll eventually learn what people really want to read about.  I'll even learn how to upload pictures onto this so it's more fun to look at for me and you.  So I hope you enjoy and stay tuned for the exciting adventures to come!
